A fairytale world of

traditional and cultural weddings. Our exquisite gardens and chapel
provides the most romantic of settings for weddings which has attracted a
multitude of couple’s over the years from all cultures, to pamper you
perfectly with the most unique service a wedding venue can offer. The
Gretna Green Chapel seats 150 guests and is set under thatch. It has been
named after a small border town in Scotland, where, going back to the
1700’s and for some 250 years thereafter English law was on the side of
the parents and couples under the age of 21 needed parental consent to
marry. Across the border in Scotland it was legally possible for boys to
get married at 14 and girls at 12 years of age without parental consent.
Young eloping couples would dash for the border whilst Gretna's two
Blacksmiths shops formed the backdrops for weddings performed in great
haste lest the parents were in hot pursuit of the couple. Hundreds of
thousands of weddings have taken place in this small town through the
years. A tree lined path sweeps
from the Gretna Green Chapel through serene gardens to ‘The Copper
Leopard’ function room which seats 150 guests, depending on the size of
the dance floor. We are able to provide you with everything to make your
day one of complete perfection. Our team of talented wedding coordinators
are trained to the highest standard meaning that you can relax and do what
you are meant to do – enjoy the pleasure of the most important day of your
life. We also offer carefully selected suppliers of in-house facilities,
DJ’s, florist’s, décor and selected menus, all depending on the size of
your budget. Birthday parties, themed
functions, cocktail hour parties, corporate launches, matric farewells,
Christmas parties and Baptism lunches. What ever the occasion we will
happily work with you to create your perfect event. We have two thatched
conference centre’s which are both air-conditioned and equipped with fax
and photocopy facilities, proxima on request, whiteboards, breakaway
rooms, tea/coffee, meals and bar facilities. We also have a well appointed
executive boardroom. These facilities can seat between 6 and 100
delegates. Team building facilities and shuttle services can be arranged.
And at the end of the day guest can relax and be entertained at our
“Loquat Bar” for cocktail hour or laze around the rock pool. Or why not
